personalized coaching and empowerment
This course is recommended for individuals who would like to equip themselves with the basic knowledge needed to transition from a teacher-guided practice to a self-guided practice.
The reality is that private yoga classes can be costly, studios are not always accessible geographically, and the pre-recorded content available online can lead to more confusion without a fundamental understanding of yoga movements and the opportunity to ask personalized questions. Work with an experienced yoga teacher to gain the confidence to maintain a safe and effective home practice on your own. This course is taught in an inclusive approach and is physically and emotionally safe for bodies of any size or ability or gender. |

frequently asked questions
Q: Is the three-week yoga course for one person only?
A: Yes, this course is for you alone to address your unique physical and emotional needs. No two people are exactly alike, so this course is designed to fulfill your specific goals, be it to manage stress, be more flexible for your chosen sport, manage pain from chronic illness, etc. We do not compromise on what we include or exclude in our sessions because the focus here is 100% on you.
Q: How is the three-week yoga course different from a private yoga class?
A: This three-week yoga course is focused on a very specific need, and trains you to be self-sufficient in your practice towards the end of the course. Therefore, it is more suitable for those who feel they can keep up a routine on their own, and need support only in the initial understanding of alignment, movements, and use of props. You may not be looking to practice yoga as your main movement activity, but seek to incorporate simple routines to destress, manage pain, or improve athletic performance. We co-create a sequence that works for you and this becomes your personal go-to sequence for as long as it serves you.
Q: What is the advantage of taking this three-week yoga course over taking recorded classes online?
A: Recorded classes online offer a lot of value to many different people, and many are low-cost or even free! But because these are recorded, they are by nature very general in their instructions and may not be suitable for everyone. Therefore, the contra-indications of yoga poses may not always be mentioned and can potentially cause harm without proper guidance, particularly if you're working with recent or recurring injuries. One way to think of your investment in this yoga course is that you are choosing to take a paid personal course to be safe, rather than paying for treatments from injuries.
Q: Is this a weight-loss course?
A: No. Fatphobia, weight stigma, and toxic diet culture harm everyone, both physically and mentally. It is possible to relieve aches and pains and gain strength and balance without intentional weight loss, and this is the principle by which I teach all of my classes. For individuals looking to lose weight, I suggest looking into the deeper personal or societal roots of this desire. I recommend the book "The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love" by Sonya Renee Taylor. If you would like to explore joyful movement instead, I would be happy to design a course with you that inspires you to move with the body you have right now.
Q: Is it advisable to take other yoga classes after this course?
A: That is entirely up to you! The course can stand alone on its own, and you can repeat the sequence we designed for you for as long as you want. Taking other yoga classes after this course has the advantage of you no longer being a complete beginner, and could be a good idea if you start looking for variety or change your goals or want to widen your understanding of yoga.
