Q: What are the advantages of taking an online private yoga class?
A: Taking an online private yoga class allows you to have a customized experience where your physical or emotional concerns are addressed. The online private yoga class revolves arounds your needs as your needs change. The cues you receive are specific to your body at that precise moment that you are doing the poses.
Q: What do I need to set up for an online private yoga class?
A: You need a yoga mat with enough grip and padding for an online private yoga class. Two yoga blocks and a yoga strap are also useful props. To set up online, check that I can see the full view of your yoga mat as you do the poses. That way, I can provide feedback and cues.
Q: What do I do if an online private yoga class is too easy or too difficult for me?
A: To get the most out of your online private yoga class, you are encouraged to give feedback while the class is going on. You can describe how you feel (e.g. I don't feel much of a stretch; there is too much pressure on my knees; the pace is too fast) or ask questions (e.g. is it normal that my legs are shaking?) and we will work together to maximize every session for you.

A: Some of the cues given in yoga classes may sound confusing either because of anatomical terms or because they sound abstract. I generally use simple cues when giving instructions, as we cannot feel what we do not understand. Please do not hesitate to ask about anything that is unclear to you even while the class is going on. I can show you what the movement looks like through the demo screen. This is part of what you pay for in a private yoga class-- to learn in a way that works best for you. The two-way interaction is what will help you in your progress, and what will help me understand your concerns in your practice.
Q: How often should I take an online private yoga class?
A: It depends on your objectives in taking an online private yoga class. If you are starting out a fitness routine, the monthly package with three 30-minute yoga classes a week is recommended so we go into the practice slowly and gently. We make the practice accessible without being overwhelming. If you are looking to build more strength or flexibility in a regular practice, you can schedule one class a week. We work on form and alignment together, and you can practice on your own for the rest of the week using the poses and sequences we covered. Whatever schedule you choose, know that consistency is key to loving and keeping a yoga practice.
